Analysis

As I already had posted the first two versions and nothing could be changed, I was starting to cringe every time I saw them. Things started to look weird and off, more and more nothing like my subject. And I know, I know I can do it better and I see what's wrong but I was scheduled to make Reckful now. I started on making Reckful, same methodology as the Forsen sculpt and took it to a level where I felt like I was stuck. It's always a pretty good idea to pause work, not look at it for a while. So I did just that with the Reckful sculpt. Now but what do i wanna do, I didn't wanna just fix the face, I wanted to make do something new so I thought about what.
Looking around the internet, I found out that God of War had actually designed figurines that were kinda limited and espensive as fuck. And I though, I could do that. Maybe design something and publish it for some people top print? Tech is pretty far nowadays so it'll work for most of the people. Resin printing will be a bit more complex to pull off I believe but that'll be an issue for another day. I also didn't know anything about keying yet but you gotta start somewhere right.

At some point I settled and wanted to make a figurine maybe printable in some capacity but mainly practise some aspects of printable figurine making.

Process

Like always, I start out by gathering references that I liked. This time it included a lot of figurine sculpts and references for figurine hair. I sketched a couple of poses that I and left them to simmer early on. As Forsen had won the minecraft feud at that point, I planned on doing something along the lines of a celebration to the end of a never ending cycle.

I of course already had the head itself, so I started the sculpting process by fixing the head, correcting all the things that triggered me the in the mean time. Once the head was done I blocked the body to some extend to get a pose on which I could make some clothing in Marvelous Designer. No real reason as to why exactly to use that programm if the clothing is as simple as you can see in the final, result but I wanted to test a couple of things. But truth be told I ended up smoothing nearly all of the MD detail away sculpting in the wrinkles myself.

The design of the outfit is derived from Forsens minecraft skin if you were wondering. Stuck a couple of arrows in there for the immersion and flashbacks.
In the final result you can see a copium tank as well as XQCs severed head. Even tho initial idea only featured either or, I ended up doing both as the balance of the model looked better that way. Even put it up to a short vote on the Forsen Discord. The copium tank was made in a CAD program, fairly quick and it basically is just what you see. Took a couple of design inspirations from real life O² tanks.
Doing another likeness just for the sake of a prop was a bit of an overextention but I figured that XQC will be voted sooner or later and I could use this as a base then. It additionally added a little speedrun likeness challenge to the whole situation, seeing how quick I could get a passable likeness going. Also speedran the reference gathering and even used Forsens head as a base. One special thing I had added was the anatomy of neck crosssection to get a sorta accurate look on a severed head in case people check. All in all the juicer detour took me around three to four sessions if I recall correctly.

headless

Due to the outfit barely covering any skin at all, I needed to spend some extra time working on the exposed areas. Probably ended up making the man way more fit than he ever was but that's the beauty in art isn't it. It'll look like how the artist want's it to look like. And it'll be whatever the viewer want's it to be. Had to do a bunch of other stuff to glue it all together, like add a platform, couple rocks, the cube, sneakers and the oxygen mask.
The last special thing with this sculpt was the poly hair. Went kinda lazy about it and used tiling alphas to do most of the work, It looks alright but I don't think I'll do it like that again. The pattern repeats heavily and it looks repetitive if you look closer at it.

Rendering

While sculpting I came up with a funny idea. As this sculpt developed to be more of a male posing kind of sculpt á la Sleek'n'Tears, I thought I'd be funny to combine Jojo music with it.
Developing the look like it might be an actual commercial, commissioned by Cloud 9, the organization Forsen is actually still a part of. Thus I keyed a couple of camera animations, rendered it and comped everything together on beat. Also hid a couple of jokes in it some more obvious than others. Pushed it to Youtube and crossposted it everywhere. Good reception all in all, considering me posting it out of the blue on an acoount without any previous uploads, for a video without any traditional content, it did well.
